A student of the legendary Rudolf Serkin, Ronald Brautigam is regarded as one of Holland’s most respected musicians, remarkable not only for his virtuosity and musicality but also for the eclectic nature of his musical interests. Besides his performances on modern instru- ments he has established himself as a leading exponent of the fortepiano, on which he has recorded a superb cycle of Beethoven sonatas. His gala recital programme combines two of his great loves: Beethoven and Scotland (which is the native land of his wife). His inclusion of works by the late Ronald Stevenson brings our mini sub-series of works by modern Scottish composers to a very satisfying conclusion.

This promises to be an outstanding recital and we recommend booking well in advance.
