Haddington Concert Society is committed to quality music-making, with an annual series of concerts and recitals open to the public, performed in local buildings easily accessible on foot or by public transport.
Our mission is to promote and encourage the study, practice, and knowledge of music in Haddington and the surrounding district by organising concerts and other events that will advance public education in the arts.
We aim to nurture cultural life in our community by promoting serious music, encouraging local performers, and giving new music a hearing alongside master works of the concert repertory. Young people are particularly welcome to our concerts and are admitted free of charge.
From October to March each year since 1986, we have presented concerts of high artistic merit. Many rising stars have performed for us, as well as notable musicians already well established in the UK and abroad.
