In celebration of another important chapter in our history, we invited Hélène Clément, one of the most in-demand violists in Europe today, to create a programme around our  Millennium commission. Beamish’s sonata, inspired by Janice Galloway’s book about Clara Schumann, sits beautifully with works by Clara herself and her husband Robert, with Rebecca Clarke’s sweeping Sonata bringing the concert to a ravishing conclusion.
